About the Table

Where the Story Begins
For me, the kitchen has never been only a place where food is prepared.
My grandmother’s kitchen was the heart of her home. It was where we cooked, ate, talked, worked, played games, celebrated, and simply spent time together. It was lived in, well used, imperfect, and full of the ordinary moments that eventually became some of the memories I still hold closest.
That kitchen is mine now, at least for this chapter of my life, and I still find myself drawn to it. I work there. I gather there. I cook there. The cabinets are worn, the room carries its age, and even a broken hinge becomes part of a story that has been unfolding for generations.
That history is part of what inspired this table.
What We Keep
Food has a remarkable way of carrying memory.
A recipe can preserve the voice of someone who is no longer here. A familiar scent can return us to a kitchen we have not stood in for decades. A dish can tell us something about where our family came from, what was available to them, what they celebrated, and what they chose to pass forward.
Here, I share recipes from my family and heritage alongside dishes I have discovered, learned, adapted, and made my own over the years.
Along the way, we may explore the stories behind those foods, the history of ingredients and traditions, seasonal customs, kitchen lore, and the quiet magick found in preparing something with intention.
Not every recipe is ancient. Not every dish was inherited. That is part of the point.
Tradition is not something we only receive. It is also something we continue creating.
A Living Tradition
This is not an archive meant to remain untouched.
Recipes change hands. Ingredients change. Families change. We travel, learn, substitute, experiment, remember, and begin again.
Some things remain exactly as they were taught to us. Others evolve into something new.
Both belong here.
This is a place for the food we remember, the stories attached to it, and the things worth carrying forward.
Bring What You Remember. Take Something Worth Keeping.
